Cuba - Havana

It was impressive to see how many buildings in Old Havana have been restored since my last visit in 2001. Since UNESCO designated Havana a World Heritage Site in 1982, much progress has been on the restoration of the Spanish Colonial architecture. Still, much work needs to be done to ensure that these buildings last another 300 years.

Havana is one of the safest cities in the world. The people are friendly and helpful wherever you go. I enjoyed strolling through both the upscale areas and the poor neighborhoods.
