Cuba - Dos Rios


Dos Rios (Two Rivers) is the spot where on May 19th of 1895, Jose Marti, the man most closely tied to the struggle for Cuban independence from Spain, was killed.  Today, this is most sacred ground is visited by Cubans and great respect is paid to Marti, the man known as "The Apostle of Cuba".

On our visit to the site, we were given the priviledge of laying a floral wreath at the base of the monument to Jose Marti.  To understand more about this unique figure in the history of Cuba, click here.
