The house was constructed in 1908 by master carpenter Miguel Rodriguez.  Doctor Manuel Sanchez Silveira
purchased it in 1913 and made it his home and professional doctor's office.  Here all his children were born.
In 1983 the house was made into a museum of the municipality of Media Luna, and on the 9th of May, 1990
it became a National Museum of the Birthplace of Celia Sanchez Manduley.
