Parque Cespedes

In the heart of Santiago de Cuba, this shady square is surrounded with attractive historical buildings. In the distance, the Sierra Maestra mountains can be seen.

From the balcony of the white building across the street from the square, Fidel gave his victory speech on January 2, 1959, after Batista's flight from Cuba.
