On October 17, 1997, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro presided over a solemn ceremony held at the Commandant Ernesto Che Guevara Memorial Complex in Santa Clara to bury the remains of Commandant Che Guevara and Cuban comrades Alberto Fernandez Montes de Oca, Carlos Coello, Rene Martinez Tamayo, Orlando Pantoja, as well as the Bolivian Simeon Cuba and the Peruvian Juan Pablo Chang. |
