It Jeopardize with Justice and the Truth

They are the 53 members of the brigade of solidarity with The 14th Annual Ernesto Che Guevara Volunteer Brigade of Canada, that for a period of 15 days remained in Granma Province.

The waves bathe their feet and a torrent of pretty words like friendship, love, solidarity whisper to them, confidence..., because the immensity of the ocean is not a sufficiently great thing that can prevent the fusion of hearts.

Keerri Goodman had never in her life seen the sea and much less, to feel its salty waters on her skin. Perhaps for that reason her heart nearly jumped out of her chest when she did. She is a young person of 21 years, with copper skin and she showed signs of pride when she spoke of her people, in Sandy Lake First Nations, a community of indigenous peoples located in Northern Ontario, Canada.

It is her first time in the Cuban archipelago, she now confirms she knows more of our realities, totally different from what she had heard.

"Before I knew nothing of this tiny country. It was incredible to walk by the Sierra Maestra Mountain range. Imagíne, I had never even seen a mountain. To retrace steps and see the places where om the past Che, Fidel and Raul Castro were, produced a wonderful sensation to me. I closed the eyes and I wanted to imagine that my feet were his.

"I have many things to tell my people, they can not conceive the great beauty and inner strength of these people. Definitively I am going to learn Spanish for my return the next year, because, I will return."

HUMANISMO

If someday it were decided to write the history of all those that have offered their unconditional support to the country, also named the Pearl of the Antilles, at the difficult moments of their fight against the economic blockade, financial and commercial tax by the government of the United States, against the terrorism and in his to battle by the liberation of the Five heroes prisoners of the empire, the Canadian Ernesto Che Guevara Brigade would have a commendable place, by the intransigence of such intentions, humanism and the high degree of commitment to justice and the truth.

Bob Henry, who came to the front of the diverse group said to the (newspaper) Demajagua: "We arrived at Cuba the 28th of July and in Granma, we met the Party officials, Cuban combatants, Niquero, visited the Demajagua, the Command Post of the La Plata, the native the home of Celia Sanchez, a mountain hospital, the Stroll and the CDR number six, Juan Vitalio Acuña, zone 128, popular Advice Jesus Menéndez, of Bayamo in short, several sites.

We lodged in the art instructor school Hatuey Cacique, where we shared with students and we did all together, each morning, voluntary work in agricultural fields. That is one of the reasons for which annually we come to this country, for giving continuity to that shining idea of the Che and to demonstrate our love and admiration for the Cuban Revolution.

We are of different social layers, students, other workers, on this occasion four native Canadians came in the group. The majority of us are involved in integrated committees of solidarity and support for the liberation of the Cuban Five. On our return to Canada we are spokesmen of the dignity and the truth of this people."

VOICES

They are more than 50 names and voices, convincing in thoughts and actions. For Maheli Pacheco this is her fifth stay this way: " What to say, but that these trips are wonderful, always an education and an example. After being in the historical centers of the province it is like being already part of History ".

Rafael Arencibia, secondary school student, is youngest member of the group, at just 15 years old: "My father spoke several times to me of Cuba, and wanted to know it close up, for that reason I am here. Cubans are admirable, amiable, respectful, hard working. I have not seen violence as it imagined, in addition, it believed controlled people to them and it is not thus. I always heard of the economic embargo, now I realize that it is a blockade."

To sisters Paelina and Jen, 18 and 19 years of age, they have liked excessively the Granma Province, to see how everyone shares, are goals and aids of and others. They promise to master the Spanish language for next August, when they will return.

Lance does not speak our language, even so he offered to express this thought: "How well, you are privileged. We had the honor to be in the farm where Fidel and Raul grew up, in a school and a mountain clinic. Tremendous!

Sabrina Thompson, of Toronto, says that unforgettable is the one word to describe the impact of the city of Bayamo on her.

"Our objective is to speak out against the unjust jailing of the Five, to demand the extradition of Inn Tracks so that it is judged as it deserves and to show the discord which the economic blockade has imposed on the Cuban nation.

"Also we set out to spread the word, the knowledge about the life of Cuba, and its people. We become blind from the the vanities world, and you, the Cubans, have necessary and the essential things to live. "Spiritually you are very full and that makes you have much more than we: citizen tranquillity, security, confidence, knowledge of how to share and to live. It will be very difficult to destabilize Cuba.

"I suggest we should not be misled by the (US) propaganda, its aim is to manipulate, everything is not like it is painted, it has been a great lie."

All those men and women have become echo between stones and the raised walls of silence around the Cuban archipelago. Our task rises like one more a flag of justice and the truth that the
world defends today, more eager at the moment for the one fraternity between the peoples.
