Found in 1860 by a Spanish army officer, it is an exceptional piece of work from the Cuban aboriginal culture. It is thought to date back to the 15th century, when the island's native culture was at its peak. Made of olive green peridotita stone, it represents a masculine figure with arms across the chest. The piece measures 350 mm long, 76 mm wide and 48 mm thick. Since 1981, it has been the symbol of the Province of Holguin.
